Welcome to ‘From Aaji’s Kitchen’. A blog with recipes, photographs and kitchen anecdotes with family and friends, also occasional food musings and reflections.

This blog is an extension of my book ‘From Aaji’s Kitchen’. My book was started as a chronicle of our family recipes. The book had its’ limitation of page numbers. Through this blog we are reaching out and sharing more recipes.

The food we cook for our loved ones and eat together connects us. The taste and aroma of the food binds us to the present and reminds of the past.

More about me

I live in Mumbai. After my retirement from Regional Agmark Laboratory, I started treating my kitchen as a laboratory. I experimented recipes from different cuisines. ButI found out that young generation is forgetting our own cuisine. These were the roots of‘From Aaji’s kitchen ‘, a book for the younger generation who want to keep the food culture alive.

‘From Aaji’s Kitchen’ is a very practical attempt at writing a recipe book. I have used my experience of working as a chemist to prepare a working method for each recipe. My motto is’ anybody can cook’.

My recipes are simple, easy to follow. If followed properly give the expected results.The book has about 110 recipes and are divided in 10 sections. Non-vegetarian dishes from the book are very fetching. But personally I love vegetarian section more. The recipes are old fashioned but tweaked for the new generation to cook.
